PLEASE HELP RECYCLE!
Drop off your plastic bags and canning jars at the orchard and we'll re-use them!
We're always looking for wagons for people to use when they go to our pumpkin patch - feel free to drop off your old or un-used wagons at the orchard!
We're also happy to take any picnic tables you're getting rid of - even if it's just the 'bones' of the table.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Operation Fruit & Vegetables–Kids in the Garden 2013
This is the second year for the ‘Kids in the Garden Program’ at Lapacek’s Orchard recommended for kids ages 5-9. We’ve realized that only YOU know your kids – if they’re under 5 or over 10 and you think they would enjoy the Kids in the Garden Program – please sign them up! The program went over AMAZINGLY last summer and I honestly can’t wait for the second season to start!
We will be holding informational sessions during Apple Blossom Days – the first two weekends in May if you want to find out more about this program before you sign up. Stop by anytime between 10-4 and we’d be happy to answer any questions you may have about the program.
Wednesday afternoons, June 12, 19, 26, July 10, 17, 24, 31 and August 7 from 2:00-3:30. Cost is $30 per child for the entire season ($25 for any addition child in the family – example; Two children in a family would cost $55 for the season, 3 children in a family $80 for the season). Come as often as you can. An interested adult is required to accompany the child(ren) at no charge.
Think this sounds like fun? Don’t worry – you can come any week for just $5/child. If you can possibly email me ahead of time (lapaceksorchard {at} gmail {dot} com) so I can make sure to have enough for everyone that would be great. BUT if it's a last minute decision that you make please still come! All are welcome!
If you already know that you and your child (or children) are definitely in please send Kim an email at (lapaceksorchard {at} gmail {dot} com) to reserve your space. Don’t hesitate to ask questions!
Not sure if you’re interested? Just click on the links below to see all the fun we had during the last 2012 season!
- Help plant a special kid’s garden and care for it every week.
- Special hands on learning activities in all the other gardens at Lapacek’s including apples, pears, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, squash, pumpkins, gourds, cabbage, sunflowers, herbs, tomatoes and peppers. We’ll even keep an eye on the ornamentals.
- Learn about the life cycle of plants, how to build great soil, pollination and lots, lots more.
- Explore whether critters are friends or foes.
- Sample fruits and veggies right after picking (sometimes raw and sometimes cooked) with the kids involved in every step.
- On Wednesday, July 17th Chef Matt from Monty's Blue Plate Diner will be visiting and COOKING WITH THE KIDS! This will be an extra special day this summer!
- Additional ‘field trips’ will be available this year. These will most likely happen at times not during the normal programming and may cost additional fees depending one where we’re going. I’ll keep you posted as I schedule these.
