PLEASE HELP RECYCLE!

Drop off your plastic bags and canning jars at the orchard and we'll re-use them!

We're always looking for wagons for people to use when they go to our pumpkin patch - feel free to drop off your old or un-used wagons at the orchard!

We're also happy to take any picnic tables you're getting rid of - even if it's just the 'bones' of the table.

Thanks!

Even in the Rain

We are almost through with our 2013 Orchard Tours.  It has been a successful year even if we did have one rainy morning! (so far…)

IMG_2436A good friend of mine, Lisa H, has taken over the tour portion of the orchard.  When you visit with your class or daycare you’re lucky to have her guide you through the orchard.  She’s incredible!IMG_2432We did have a rainy morning for a daycare.  Luckily – we have a great lean area that we were able to make into an outdoor class room.  We prepared some different varieties of apples that would work for an apple tasting for the kiddos.   IMG_2437IMG_2443All the kids looked adorable in their fantastic rain gear!IMG_2449The apple crate chairs worked out great for these kiddo’s!  What a wonderfully behaved group.  IMG_2452

They sat so nicely and patiently as they waited for the tasting to begin.  IMG_2459At this point the rain was still not letting up…IMG_2460But the tasting went well – this was the Haralson apple – a bit tart for most kids. IMG_2464About half way through their visit the rain stopped and the thunder paused.  The group was able to head out into the orchard for the rest of their visit.  They even had time to hang out with the goats.IMG_2473

I just love this picture!IMG_2474

And of course – a few trips down the slides were in order. The kids all piled onto the bus just before the next rain hit.
