Apple-azing Race: “Cider House Rules” by John Irving Challenge
Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you were able to enjoy the beautiful day yesterday with our icky, but necessary, rainy weekend. Today, I’m going to keep the journey along the way of the Apple-Azing Race.
All photo’s on this blog post were taken by Michelle Cross Photography. Michelle did a fantastic job shooting each event so I’ll be able ‘illustrate’ each challenge for you! If you want to order any photo’s from the race follow these instructions:
- go to www.michellecrossphotography.blogspot.com
- Click ‘clients’
- Click ‘Apple-Azing Race Gallery’
Each challenge was named after a book to follow along with the fact that we were raising money for the Poynette Area Public Library. I’m going to blog about each challenge – the clue to find the challenge, the challenge itself and exactly what each team had to do at each challenge.
“Cider House Rules” by John Irving Challenge Clue:
Wash your hands with the nectar of the apple orchard and press on through. Decide on 2 team members that will participate in this challenge.
“Cider House Rules” by John Irving Challenge:
Two of your team members can participate in this challenge.
Press the apples provided in the old fashion cider press.
You have fifteen minutes to press, squeeze, collect and clean the cider press. Penalty seconds will be added if any help is needed from our volunteer, if you haven’t finished pressing after 12 minutes and if you don’t finish cleaning up post press. If the entire process isn’t completed in 15 minutes you will be given a penalty time of 20 minutes. Once the task is done you will receive your next clue.
Here’s the top 10 Teams for this challenge:
FIRST: Galloping Gimps
Second: Beauties & The Beasts
Third: Can You Dig It?
Fourth: Apple-azing Pie & Ice Cream Team
Fifth: Pink Ladies
Sixth: Howard’s Place Girls
Seventh: Zeke’s Crew
Eighth: Sassy Pants
Ninth: 2 Bad Apples
Tenth: Agora Healing
