Apple-Azing Race: Arnie the Doughnut by Laurie Keller Challenge
All photo’s on this blog post were taken by Michelle Cross Photography. Michelle did a fantastic job shooting each event so I’ll be able ‘illustrate’ each challenge for you! If you want to order any photo’s from the race follow these instructions:
- go to www.michellecrossphotography.blogspot.com
- Click ‘clients’
- Click ‘Apple-Azing Race Gallery’
Each challenge was named after a book to follow along with the fact that we were raising money for the Poynette Area Public Library. I’m going to blog about each challenge – the clue to find the challenge, the challenge itself and exactly what each team had to do at each challenge.
Once the teams figured out how to squeeze cider the old fashioned way they were given there next clue:
"Arnie the Doughnut" by Laurie Keller Challenge Clue
Frost your way to the back area of the apple store and get yourself out of a doughy situation.
2 part challenge: 1 team mate will do the first portion, 2 teammates will do the second portion
Once they found the back room of the store (I know…not too tricky of a place to find…) they were given the challenge:
"Arnie the Doughnut" by Laurie Keller Challenge
One team member must frost and decorate their six donuts to replicate those that are already decorated on the table. Once the judge at the challenge has approved the frosting and decorating, two teammates must eat the six donuts before the time is stopped and they get their next clue. Penalties will be distributed for broken donuts, uneaten donuts, or major mistakes in decorating per the judge’s discretion.
Top 10 Teams of this challenge:
FIRST: Galloping Gimps
Second: The Beauties & The Beasts
Third: 2 Bad Apples
Fourth: Sassy Pants
Fifth: Howard’s Place Ladies
Sixth: Apple-Azing Pie and Ice Cream Team
Seventh: Zeke’s Crew
Eighth: Pink Ladies
Ninth: Can U Dig It?
Tenth: 2 Chicks and a Compass
