Barn Quilt Week
Head over to my ‘creative’ blog Persimon Dreams throughout the last week of May to see how these two barn quilts came together for my ‘Barn Quilt Week…

Bloom Photo of the Day
Karmen Linder Photography took this fabulous picture of our orchard dog, Tank, relaxing under the blossoming apple trees.
Bloom Photo of the Day
I think I’m going to keep posting these as long as it’s still blooming…
Photo taken by Karmen Linder of Karmen Linder Photography.
Karmen’s been at the orchard non-stop getting some amazing shots in the blossoming orchard. You still have time to book her for a shoot – contact her asap!
Feel free to come out between 2:30 and 5:30 today and go for a walk in the amazing blossoming orchard. I seriously can’t stop smiling when I’m out there…it’s indescribable.
Bloom Photo of the Day
My parents brought my Grandma down from DePere to see Cedi play soccer and to go for a walk in the beautiful orchard. I snapped this quick shot of my Mom and I in the blossoms.
Stop by this afternoon from 2:30 to 5:30 and go for a walk in the beautiful orchard!
Blossoming Orchard
It’s for real this time! The orchard is in bloom!
Pip and I went for a walk in the orchard once Cedi and Capri got on the bus for school. Pip was in a good mood and I got some fun shots of her with the blossoms. Here are a few shots of the gorgeous brilliant pink blossoms from our Scarlet apple trees. We only have five of these guys but they sure are gorgeous! This was my favorite ‘pose’ of Pip’s on the walk. She did a great job walking all the way to the lookout!
I put my fish-eye lens on for a few pictures too…
So – since ‘Apple Blossom Days’ are over – and there were very few blossoms…we’re going to have a few *bonus* hours where you can come with your family to walk the orchard, take pictures, etc. The store will be open too so feel free to stop in and stock up on honey, canned goods, maple syrup, popcorn, soy candles, jewelry and quilted items…
Bonus Hours:
Thursday, May 16th from 3:30pm to 5:30pm
Saturday, May 18th from 2:30pm to 5:30pm
Sunday, May 19th from 2:30 to 5:30pm
Also – if you have a photographer that you love to use for pictures – make sure they know they’re welcome to use our orchard as a backdrop – I just need a phone call so I know who’s here.
Mamma Clouds
I snapped this picture from my backyard last night…Mammatus Clouds. So cool!
Happy Mother’s Day
Happy Mother’s Day to all! Hopefully we’ll see a bunch of you at the orchard today. It’s cool but beautiful and definitely a great place to bring mom!
I am going to share this picture with you today. It’s me on my mom’s shoulder’s when I was five picking apples. It made it into the DePere Newspaper. My Aunt Betty gave it to me for a wedding gift when I married Jared and into the Apples. She wrote,
Kim,
I think you were meant to pick apples.
Love Aunt Betty
This is one of my favorite pictures of my mom and I. Great memories are made at apple orchards!
Apple Blossom Days–Weekend 2 Schedule
First – what’s the deal on the apple blossoms?
Well…the first thing to bloom in the orchard are our plum trees – and they are in bloom! Which means – I think that blooms will be starting to pop in the orchard this weekend. It probably won’t be a blanket of white like it will the following weekend but it should still be gorgeous! I hope you decide to come and see us either way since we’ve so enjoyed everyone we’ve seen so far and we know that families have had a wonderful time at our orchard.
Saturday, May 11th (be sure to wish Jared a Happy Birthday!)
9:30 am - Yoga in the Orchard with Tammy of Circle of Stone Wellness ServicesYoga in the Orchard is part of YogAnywhere, a program to encourage the practice of yoga wherever you are! Yoga improves physical health, teaches awareness and mindfulness, and helps the spirit to soar, so why not make it a part of everything we do? Yoga in the Orchard puts our practice in a space to connect with the amazing processes of spring - the trees coming to life and blooming with the start of the much anticipated fruit we will all be anxiously awaiting later in the season. In addition, after the hour long practice which will be a gentle and do-able for all practice, you can join the fun at Lapacek's Apple Blossom Days! Just $5 per person. Matilda Jane and Karmen Linder
photo taken by Karmen Linder Photography
You have one more chance to come out to the orchard to check out the adorable Matilda Jane Trunk! Above is a photo that Karmen Linder of Karmen Linder Photography snuck in, in between photo shoots of my girls and two of their cousins – including my goddaughter! Matilda Jane Clothing is beyond adorable, fun and well made! Whenever you put a piece on a child – or adult – they start to smile!
Come to the orchard between 10 and 2 this Saturday, May 11th and check it out for yourself! If we can get a bunch of folks there around 11 we could even have a little ‘runway’ show…let me know if you think you can make it!
Below are some pictures I snapped with my phone of others having fun ‘playing’ in the Matilda Jane Trunk!
These two BFF’s were so cute trying on some dresses!
My adorable goddaughter Eleanor! How cute is she!?Miss Olivia got into after being a little shy. This dress was PERFECT for her…hint, hint…Kay…Even I found something perfect for me!I sucked my cousin Erica into trying some outfits on so I could show you that they have some great looks for adults too..I loved this dress with the pockets!
This dress Erica is going to let me know if I should order it for her – if she can’t stop thinking about it by tomorrow it’s going to have to be added to her closet! Isn’t it fabulous!?
We love you mom!
Mother’s Day is just over a week away! Can you believe? There are LOTS of great gift opportunities for mom at the orchard this weekend and next! Here are just a few options…
On Saturday, May 4th between 10am and 2pm – learn the art of metal stamping and make a special pendant for mom with Naomi of the Glitter Workshop!
pendant: $10 including up to four beads or charms, addition $2 for chains and ribbon.

Any of the four days…
Bring an old shoe…we’ll help you put a flower in it for mom – just $2!
These birdhouses were made by our friend Dale. They are made out of cedar with a clear plexi glass back. You suction it to your window and you can actually watch as the birds build their nest and raise their babies! So cool! Just $20 each.
A representative from Origami Owl will be at the orchard throughout apple blossom days. Above is a picture I snapped of my Living Locket that my girls’ helped make for me. I chose a blingy rose gold locket and the girls helped me pick out sewing charms, a painters charm, birthstone hearts for each of them and an owl just for fun. When I was first invited to an Origami Owl I was really excited to make Origami Owls! Turns out there is not paper folding involved – just these incredible, memorable lockets! We made one for both of the Grandma’s and godmother’s – too fun!
On Saturday, May 11th from 10:30am until 2pm - Karmen Linder is running a fabulous 'Kids Canvas Art' table for your kids to create fabulous, priceless pieces of art like the ones shown above.
Last Christmas my kids made 'Cork Paintings' for their cousin and now have orders for many more for the Christmas of 2013!
These are just a FEW examples of all the great things we have to offer during Apple Blossom Days at the orchard the next two weekends! Seriously – you don’t need to go into Madison to find the perfect gift for mom – come to the orchard!
Everything happening throughout the weekends will be under a roof – no worries if it rains. You can stay dry while you buy!
