PLEASE HELP RECYCLE!
Drop off your plastic bags and canning jars at the orchard and we'll re-use them!
We're always looking for wagons for people to use when they go to our pumpkin patch - feel free to drop off your old or un-used wagons at the orchard!
We're also happy to take any picnic tables you're getting rid of - even if it's just the 'bones' of the table.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Kids in the Orchard 2014
This is the third year for the ‘Kids in the Garden Program’ at Lapacek’s Orchard and we’re going to change the name to ‘Kids in the Orchard’. This program is recommended for kids ages 5-12. We’ve realized that only YOU know your kids – if they’re under 5 or over 12 and you think they would enjoy the Kids in the Orchard Program – please sign them up! The program went over AMAZINGLY last two summers and I honestly can’t wait for the third season to start!
Each time we meet will work on a different thing! In the past we focused purely on gardening/farming. We’ll still do some of that (like making a terrarium/fairy garden) but we’re going to expand this summer!
Diane and I (Kim) are both really into creating and part of what we’re working towards is making our orchard known for not only it’s amazing produce but the fantastic outside art work. We’ll be working on projects with the kids that will help add to the orchard as well as some take home projects.
At least one day will be a game day. We have lots of fun outdoor games, like giant jenga, that don’t get pulled out during busy apple season, that we’re excited to share with the kids.
Of course – we’ll have at least one class of cooking with kids!
It’s going to be a summer full of fun in the garden, crafty creations, and games through the orchard.
We will meet six times over the summer – on Wednesday afternoons from 2:00 to 3:30. Cost is $30* per child for the entire season ($25 for any addition child in the family – example; Two children in a family would cost $55* for the season, 3 children in a family $80 for the season). Come as often as you can. An interested adult is required to accompany the child(ren) at no charge.
Dates of Program:
Wednesday, June 25th – 2 to 3:30
Wednesday, July 2nd – 2 to 3:30
Wednesday, July 9th – 2 to 3:30
Wednesday, July 16th – 2 to 3:30
Wednesday, July 23rd – 2 to 3:30
Wednesday, July 30th – 2 to 3:30
Think this sounds like fun but not sure if you can commit to six claesses? Don’t worry – you can come any week for just $6*/child. If you can possibly email me ahead of time (lapaceksorchard {at} gmail {dot} com) so I can make sure to have enough for everyone that would be great. BUT if it's a last minute decision that you make please still come! All are welcome!
*Since we’ll be doing more take home creations there may be a small kit fee for some classes. I’ll post those as soon as I know what they are! I will also post the supply list so if you already have the items you’re more than welcome to bring them instead of buying the kit.
If you already know that you and your child (or children) are definitely in please send Kim an email at (lapaceksorchard {at} gmail {dot} com) to reserve your space. Don’t hesitate to ask questions!
