Sunday Update – Pruning, Shed addition, Project QUILTING
Things have been busy at the Lapacek household these last few weeks. Jared has been spending all of his spare time when he’s not at his ‘real’ job out in the orchard pruning – if it’s daylight, or in the shed, working on the addition if it’s nighttime. Report on the pruning – Jared figures he’s about 36% done. It’s gotten slightly easier with the snow melting so much the last few days but he still has his work cut out for him.
I’m going to share with you some pictures from inside the shed. These were actually taken a few weeks ago so I’ll have to bring my camera out and shoot the progress since – it’s pretty amazing what they’ve done! Here’s a view of the shop if you were looking at the register…it’s gotten a bit bigger behind it…
I thought this slightly angled shop gave you a bit of a better idea of what was happening…
This picture was taken with me standing approximately where my jewelry was for sale these past few seasons.
And here’s a picture into the shop from the southwest corner of the addition.
And finally – here’s a shot from the southeast corner of the addition. The ceilings are really high in the addition so we have a special surprise planned for that. I’ll get some photo’s to show you all in my next update post (hopefully next Sunday).
While Jared’s been busy with the orchard, I’ve been busy with the kiddo’s and my quilting. Project QUILTING had it’s first challenge this past week and I’m so excited to say that over 50 quilts were entered! I’ve definitely been busy keeping up with all of that AND making quilts myself!

If you’re into quilting at all I hope you join in the fun we’re having. There’s also a *bonus* quilting challenge this season. I’ve teamed up with the Fat Quarter Shop to give you a special Fat Quarter Bundle Challenge. I have to say – it’s pretty neat to see my name on a bundle of fabrics!
Here’s the quilt I made for the first challenge of Project QUILTING. I call it, Make a Wish.
I’ve also taken a photography class from Karmen Linder Photography and the girls have started back at gymnastics. We’ve definitely managed to stay busy in 2013!
