PLEASE HELP RECYCLE!
Drop off your plastic bags and canning jars at the orchard and we'll re-use them!
We're always looking for wagons for people to use when they go to our pumpkin patch - feel free to drop off your old or un-used wagons at the orchard!
We're also happy to take any picnic tables you're getting rid of - even if it's just the 'bones' of the table.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Mac 'n' Tosh are nesting
Many of you are familiar with our emus, Mac 'n' Tosh. This is the third winter we've had them and each year we've waited in vain for Mac to sit on some of their eggs. (Yes, it's Mac's job to sit on the eggs.)
Well, Friday (Good Friday, April 10) I was out in the barn looking for a couple old plastic chairs that I used last year in my little greenhouse. Frank used one on each end of the greenhouse and put an aluminum ladder between them to make me a shelf to put flats of plants on. I had hoped to have something a little more permanent this year, but that's one of the items on our to do list that didn't get done. And the ladders worked pretty well, so we'll be using them again.
Anyhow, back to the emus. I went in the barn and Mac was sitting on the emu eggs! Since them I've seen him off the nest to get a drink of water, but we're pretty sure he really intends to hatch the eggs. The info I found says 50 to 56 days to hatch, so we're looking at the end of May or first week of June.
We'll keep you posted.
