PLEASE HELP RECYCLE!

Drop off your plastic bags and canning jars at the orchard and we'll re-use them!

We're always looking for wagons for people to use when they go to our pumpkin patch - feel free to drop off your old or un-used wagons at the orchard!

We're also happy to take any picnic tables you're getting rid of - even if it's just the 'bones' of the table.

Thanks!

Joan’s Winning Salsa Recipe

Happy Saturday everyone!  It’s going to be a BEAUTIFUL day today!  Be sure to head out to the orchard to pick your own raspberries, grab a bag of apples, cider, donuts, and caramel apples.  Also – it’s time to get canning!  I can’t tell you how amazing it is to be able to preserve fresh fruits and veggies to enjoy year round.  I wanted to post the salsa recipe from one of our winner’s at our first Salsa Saturday.  You can come to the orchard and pick your own tomatoes and peppers to use in this great recipe.

Joan’s Salsa

10 cups tomatoes peeled and quartered
3 1/2 cup chopped onions
2 cups green peppers chopped
3 jalapeno peppers chopped  (more or less depending how hot you like it)
8 cloves garlic minced
1 1/2 cup vinegar
2 Tbs oregano
6 Tbs salt
2 Tbs chili powder
1 1/2 Tbs cummin
16 oz tomato paste
Boil all together except for the tomato paste for 15 minutes.  Add paste and boil for 5 more minutes.

Put into jars and hot water bath for 8 minutes.
This makes 8 pints
