PLEASE HELP RECYCLE!
Drop off your plastic bags and canning jars at the orchard and we'll re-use them!
We're always looking for wagons for people to use when they go to our pumpkin patch - feel free to drop off your old or un-used wagons at the orchard!
We're also happy to take any picnic tables you're getting rid of - even if it's just the 'bones' of the table.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Gourds
We had a bumper crop of gourds last fall. I put them all in crates and stacked them in the barn for the winter. A couple weeks ago, I decided it was time to put them out and let the weather do its work on them.
So I moved them out onto the cement in front of the barn. The sun and the rain are helping the curing process along, washing off the mold that accumulated on their surface over the winter. The first time I tried this a couple of years ago, I thought I killed them all when they started to turn black. But when they were dry, I found that they cleaned much more easily than the ones that had been kept inside. Next year, I might just leave them outside all winter. I think it's worth a try.
