2012 Map of the Orchard

When you stop by the orchard during the 2012 apple season be sure to grab a orchard pamphlet that includes a map of all the things we offer on the farm - from the orchard walk, tomato alley (aka pick your own canning tomatoes), Sunflower Lane, Pumpkin patch, the tractor tires, Raspberry Fields Forever, Raspberry Row and more!

Barn Quilt Photo

I snapped this photo while waiting for the bus with the girls. I thought it looked pretty cool so I’m sharing it with you all!

It also seemed fitting since tomorrow the Wisconsin Quilt Expo starts. I’m still trying to figure out how/;when I could squeeze a few hours in to go and see it…

Last Night’s Storm

The storm last night definitely did some damage in our little township. I didn’t think our orchard was hit too bad until we went for a little ride up to the western deer fence.

This tree took out a section of our deer fence as well as our tree trellis – yeah. Wait – is that a tree on the lookout deck? Why – yes, yes it is...

Let’s check out a bit further down the fence line. Yup another tree. There was one more small tree to the north of these three but it was so minor in comparison that I didn’t take a picture.

Frank already was up there with his chainsaws and has the branches all sawed up and off the fence and trellis. Now they just have to work on fixing the fence to keep the deer out and restring the trellis on those trees. It could have definitely been worse.

This is a picture of some damage at my neighbors house…
