We have LOTS of tomatoes at the orchard and lots of peppers too! We have decided to have a special ‘Salsa’ Festival this Saturday, August 18th to help celebrate one of the wonderful things you can use tomatoes and peppers for.

We will have samples out of many different types of salsa for you all to come and try on Saturday (for as long as supplies last). Along with that, Diane, our salsa expert, will be giving demonstrations and answering questions on all your salsa needs though out the day.
We will also have various printed recipes for you from Salsa Verde to our Fresh & Spicy Salsa to an Apple Salsa and who knows…maybe we’ll come up with a raspberry salsa recipe for you too!
To make this is even MORE FUN I want to let you get in on it a bit too. Do you think you make the best batch of salsa around? Is everyone always raving about out? Well – bring us a can or container (at least a pint) of your homemade salsa to the orchard by Friday, August 17th, and we’ll put it out for the public to try! Whomever does the taste test will get a ticket to put in the bucket behind the bowl of their favorite salsa. When the salsa’s run out – whoever has the most tickets behind their salsa will win become the ‘Salsa Star’ until the next challenge. They will also win a free flat of canning tomatoes from us, Lapacek’s Orchard.
I can’t wait to try all the different salsa’s there are out there and you can guess that I’ll be creating some fun ones for you all to try before Saturday! See you then (if not before…don’t forget…we have a great deal on some fantastic, fresh, salsa making ingredients!)
